The Simple Woman's Daybook 4 February 2013

Outside my window...it is still dark.  The weatherman was calling for more snow last night and today so I will not be surprised to see more of the white-stuff on the ground.

I am thinking...about the day ahead.  Today begins the last semester before graduation.  Twelve more credit hours and I will hopefully have a bachelors in English to show for all of my hard work.

I am thankful...for the sacrifices my family has made for my education and all the love and support that they have shown me. I could not have done this without their help.

From the kitchen...there is plenty in the refrigerator to tide us over today.  Yesterday I made scalloped potatoes and ham, chicken parmesan, and beef stroganoff.

I am wearing...nice warm jammies! The winter cold has come back to Central New York with a vengeance.

I am creating...an atmosphere conducive to family togetherness.

I am going...to take my sewing machine to the shop for some much needed maintenance while resisting the urge and temptation to purchase fabric.  We'll see how that pans out.

I am reading...The Crucified Rabbi by Taylor R. Marshall

I am hoping...for miracles.

I am hearing...the sound of Ian getting ready to go out to work (his phone went off which means that there is snow on the roads and the world needs a hero!), the windchimes sounding outside my window (further proof that the roads must have snow drifting on them), and the rest of the house trying to settle back into it's very early morning slumber.

Around the house....the feeling of rightness and warmth pervades the atmosphere.  Everywhere I look there are signs of togetherness that bespeaks family.

One of my favorite things...sitting back and watching my people be with each other.

A few plans for the rest of the week....a whole lot of the normal along with a bunch of usual are on tap for me.  A hefty helping of education will be heaped onto my days just to make sure that I don't have too much free time on my hands.

Here is a picture thought that I am sharing with you ....

There is something so right and good about the reaction of a little boy to the presence of an infant in his world.
