The Simple Womans Daybook 13 August 2012

Outside my window...the sun is shining, the temperature is a nice cool 66 and it looks like today will shape up to be a good one.  That heat wave that we had was oppressive, it is nice to have some cooler temps for a change.
I am thinking....about how to slow things down a little. This is Matthew's last week here.  It would sure be nice to slow the clock down a little.
I am thankful for...the little moments that become long lasting memories.
From the kitchen...I will be continuing spoil Matthew week with lemon/pepper chicken, honey/mustard chicken, fresh veges from the garden and salt potatoes for supper tonight.
I am wearing...a yellow sleep shirt and red flannel jammie pants.  It is just cool enough around here at night to need to dress a little warmer.
I am creating...a circle of love that will surround Matthew and go with hime when he leaves.
I am going....to stay at home all day today.  Lots of school work to do along with cooking and just spending time.
I am reading...the autobiography of Flannery O'Conner.
I am hoping...and praying for success in the weeks to come for Matthew.
I am hearing...the washer and dryer running, Layn swatting at flies in the kitchen, and the birds singing in the trees outside my window.
Around the house...all is as it should be.  This is a place for family.
One of my favorite things...the sounds of MK and Matthew laughing and talking together yesterday as they finished cleaning up his room and packing up his stuff.
A few plans for the rest of the week....spoil Matthew!
Here is a picture thought that I am sharing with you...
A guy and his binky! That poor blanket takes a lot of abuse and keeps on giving this little guy comfort.
