Monday morning, Uno, and planning the day

Outside my window...the sun is shining and already fixing to make this a nice warm spring day. There are trees in riotous bloom of pink, white, and red all over the place while the violets and daffodils peak their heads up from ditches and roadsides everywhere you go.

What I am hearing...Kaycie reading her story to Uncle, Teddy chatting with his breakfast while he eats it, and Nate playing with his toys in the corner of the dining room. Everyone seems to be as one in their hurry to finish the inside work so the sunshine can be enjoyed to its fullest.

I am wearing...denim capris and a grey tee shirt.

Plans for the day...first thing each day while I have my coffee Nate and I routinely play a game of Mancala. This morning he decided to change things up a bit and challenge me to a game of Uno. Now that I have won the game he’s gone off to play as if to say, go ahead and commence your day people. Next on the list will be a trip to the post office to mail packages, Hobby Lobby to pick up yarn for MK, then off to Johnson City to buy some gold fish.

What I am working on...I have been making various and unrelated quilt blocks to brush up on my point matching skills. Perhaps pictures of these blocks will appear in the blogosphere in the near future.

What I am learning...about the power of family, sunshine, warm weather, and flowering trees.

Here are some pictures that I am sharing with you...

Saturday evening we all went out to eat. How could a girl not feel special when escorted by these handsome men.

These flowering trees dominate the landscape here in the south. Before the leaves even come out the air is being perfumed by these blossoms. What a joy and wonder and blessing that God has placed before us to be enjoyed.
