The Simple Woman's Daybook 25 February 2013

Outside my window...there is a typical late February day in store.  The temperature hovers around freezing and the countryside is half mud and half snow.  I think it is for days such as this one that words like dreary, bleak, and depressing were coined.

I am thinking...about what needs to be done and what I'd like to be doing.  They aren't the same.

I am thankful for...mobility!  Even though there is pain and stiffness I am still able to get around this place by myself.

From the kitchen...there is plenty leftover from yesterday's supper to satisfy this lot for today too.

I am wearing...cozy flannel jammies!

I am going....to the funeral home to bid farewell to the mother of a friend today.  Beyond that I fully intend to stay right where I am.

I am reading...The Aeneid by Virgil.

I am hoping...for fair weather and peaceful travels for a very good friend.

I am hearing...the shower running which tells me that Melissa is getting ready for work, Layn talking to himself while he eats his breakfast, and MK's bird chirping in its cage.

Around the house...everything is familiar, cozy, and home.

One of my favorite things....warm gooey chocolate cake fresh from the oven.

A few plans for the rest of the week...dog sitting, holy hours, and then moving out for awhile so I can get some quality work done for school.  Thank you Dan and Mary!

Here is a picture thought that I am sharing with you...
Last Friday Ian and Melissa took the little people to the farm show.  I think Savannah enjoyed herself immensely.

*chuckling* I love Savannah's pink boots!

I think dreariness gets to me too...I used to think it was cozy but too much of it does tend to affect a little. We are having gale winds today, it did turn sunny but cold winds. The trees are shaking up a storm.

I hope your mobility gets better. Goodness, I didn't know you were having any problems. I must have missed something, so sorry.

Flannel pjs are so cozy. I like pjs very much. I have a soft corduroy knit hunter green knee length tunic type thingie I wear over my pjs so I don't get cold. I really am a fan of cozy. : )

You take care now, don't study or work too hard dear one.

Love you. Amelia
